My business SaneBox which helps people navigate the copious traffic in their Inbox is in testing mode. I have some great people that have offered to help test. Some of them I have been able to accomodate and some I am hoping to let into the test soon.
Our business is email filtering which is not a simple or trivial effort. We are very very careful to make sure that the filtering is simple, effective and helpful. Our motto is do no harm! So I have been extremely careful as we include people in the test to make sure that the engine is doing the right thing and that I understand their needs.
There are two kinds of scaling. Can the machines handle more load. Ours can. Is it sensible to include people in a gradual way to shake out any edge cases which we are sure to find? Yes.
This weekend, there weren’t any additional edge cases. My 4yo daughter was celebrating her 5th birthday for the 2nd of 3 times (don’t ask) so my 2yo son didn’t get enough sleep and was a little jealous leading to much laughing, screaming, ranting and raving.
But, there weren’t any additional edge cases. So, it was a good, loud couple of days.
Anyway, I guess this is a public thank you to all those good people that have offered their time to test what I know will be a really great web service and a promise that those on the list will get an invitation soon.
